here's a rambling text blog update thingy..
yeah so i’ve been recording guitar all weekend. should be doing uni work really, but i’m far to excited about the album to concentrate on that stuff at the moment.
i have 9 songs which are either finished or only need small parts of guitar adding to.. about 2 of them out of the 9 actually. then there’s another song which was finished quite a while ago to add. that makes 10.
things still might change, but at the moment the number of tracks stands at 10. it was going to be 12, but last minute decisions meant leaving 2 tracks off. it’s a much slicker record without them, more cohesive i reckon.
unfortuantely, christmas and new year will be in the way of really gigging loads, but January isn’t far off so i’m looking to play shitloads then. i’m already playing pretty much every week at the Boxtree, so at least i’m keeping my hand in. the more i play the more i get into it naturally… really want a gig with more than 3 songs though, that’s the only crap thing about open mic nights. 3rd song in, just warmed up and… see ya.
once i get a car sorted again i’m gonna be gigging with my Telecaster and AC30. it’s a bit unconventional, but people will actually take notice if there’s a bit of noise with the vocal. i reckon maybe 40% of the crowd were paying attention to all the music last Wednesday. 40% isn’t bad i guess.
um, what else? i might join PRS as one of my tracks (False Light) is on a charity CD soon.. although I’m not sure how it works out that I’d make money from the sale of a charity CD?! perhaps i don’t know enough about all that.
i want to play all over the UK. so hopefully when someone messages me on myspace asking when i’m coming to their town i can tell them…
